We had a phenomenal experience at a charming albergue on the Camino, just a few kilometers before Portomarin. Mercadoiro was a delightful place to stay, with its clean and airy atmosphere. the common area was beautifully furnished like a traditional home, and the albergue had a lovely expansive lawn with a clothesline and lounge chairs that offered breathtaking views of the surrounding farm and hills. the fixed dinner menu was absolutely delicious and felt like a special treat. the albergue felt more like a pension with its comfortable bunk beds.
The check-in process was a bit difficult as there was no central desk. When we arrived, the manager seemed too busy cooking to check us in immediately.

Absolutely nothing to say about dislikes.

Celebrated Xmas here with a memorable experience. Great surprise with a complimentary bottle of wine and chocolates in the cozy room. Enjoyed the peaceful surroundings with a beautiful view of the hills. The location was perfect and accessible as it was on the path of my journey. Worth mentioning was the clean and spacious room with all the necessary amenities.
The restaurant was a disappointment, with limited food options and poor staff services. , the noise from the barking dog and cats created an unnecessary disturbance.

Nestled in a serene rural setting, this stone-built accommodation is an authentic stop on your journey. The dorm rooms are cozy and private, with oil heating. The staff is very helpful and friendly, making sure to provide everything you need to have a comfortable stay. There is a lovely common room with a wood fire and free wifi. A pretty outdoor eating area and restaurant serve delicious pilgrim menus. The rooms are clean and tidy, with enough space for two people and their luggage.
The shared bathroom has limited hot showers and can get busy during peak times, but the wait is not too long.

I recently stayed at Mercadoiro during my Camino de Santiago pilgrimage. The private room was absolutely beautiful, and the hosts and staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. They even went above and beyond by doing our laundry for us. The restaurant and café bar were excellent, and I enjoyed a delicious dinner with a fellow pilgrim. The location was perfect, nestled in a stunning countryside setting. my stay at Mercadoiro was pleasant and relaxing, and I cannot thank them enough for the wonderful experience.
Would recommend this hotel.

We loved the beautiful scenery and enjoyed relaxing in the hammock, which was a nice touch. the staff were friendly and accommodating, making us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. Plus, the lounge area was perfect for chilling out after a long day of exploring.
The place can get really busy at peak times, and the staff can seem a bit harried, leading to longer wait times. the food was good but nothing special.

I had the most amazing view from the garden at this hidden gem just before Portomarin. It was the perfect spot to relax and take in the beautiful scenery. The staff were friendly and made me feel welcome throughout my stay. Plus, the albergue had a large lounge area for those rainy days.

On a sunny day, the outdoor area of this hotel would have been delightful, with beautiful grounds featuring loungers to relax and enjoy the sun. the location is very convenient, right off the pathway and on the Camino. the room was beautiful and included an overstuffed chair and a very comfortable spring rocker.
One negative aspect is that the bathroom facilities are limited, with only one toilet and two showers for all the beds in the dorms and private rooms.
